The work of the TCRWP is some of the most powerful work the field of education has ever seen. My district works closely with the project. I’ve studied with project leaders at the Reading, Writing, and Coaching institutes in NYC for several years and have been following their work since before I had my own classroom.

Scholastic Book Wizard


This is a fantastic resource for leveling books, and you have to check out the Book-Alike feature for students whose interests don’t seem to fit with their reading level.

ReadWorks


This site contains short reading passages in lots of genres on various levels. This is helpful when you need to expose students to the genre of reading tests.

This site houses TONS of high-interest non-fiction articles on current events. Most articles are available in five different lexile levels, so you can adjust the reading level for a variety of student needs.
