I like how you had to add to the bottom of the chart!! It may drive you or others crazy, but it proves that it is genuine, really used in a classroom, and ever growing! What grade level is this? The book examples look like younger grades. Or did you use simpler texts to model with older students?
Theme is NOT one or two sentences. This is a great anchor chart for TOPIC, which can then be turned into theme by asking the question “What does the AUTHOR want us to learn about theme?”
Theme cannot be expressed in phrases. Themes must be stated in complete sentences.
